The Circus is in Town

The circus is in town, I saw posters yesterday and I am seriously thinking of running away with them, hell the only thing that is stopping me are the rumors. Here is the thing right? Whenever they show up, there is a massive increase of missing people. And when I mean massive, I don't mean "running away with a circus" amount, we are talking about hundreds of people.
We can't all feel that bad, right? But even if we were, that is just too many, and it wasn't even one time occurence, this happens everytime, it has been happening since the twenties when this circus first showed up. Nobody knows where they are from, or how they have been able to keep the same acts for the entire time. And why it almost looks like there are always the same people on the posters.
Doesn't matter though, it's probably just a coincidence, no matter what theories circle around, hey I am pretty sure that some of the posters from way back there were just photoshopped. I wonder if they would want an office rat in their midst, I could... well I don't know what I could do, hell, I have never been to this circus, so I don't know what their thing is.
I should go, if I find them, see this is the weird thing about them, they don't advertise their location, they just put the generic posters up and you are supposed to follow the music, join the parade, say the posters. You have to put an effort into it.
I saw the parade only once, people in it looked really excited, I wanted to go, but my grandmother held my hand tightly, and practically dragged me away. I remember it freaked me out as a kid because the circus was in town and grandma was suddenly praying and muttering about the devils roaming the streets. She even grounded me. Said that I am not allowed from her sight.
I don't know why she did it, the circus doesn't look scary at all, hell, they don't even have clowns. The only thing that was weird, and this will sound weird, was that when I was kid, I could swear that they didn't have a reflection in the mirror at the crossroads. But hey, I think that is only a false memory because let's be honest, who would pay attention to such a thing. I'll try my luck after work, maybe even go to the street when I first saw them all those years back. Yeah, I think the show will be ...transformative.
